One of the University professors and I road our 50cc scooters to Cheongpung lake. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. The main road was full of people who came from neighboring cities and towns to see the cherry blossoms. Kids were hanging out of sunroofs and windows taking pictures or trying to eat the falling flowers.
The traffic was bad. We used the shoulder to pass cars, and tour buses. Motorcylce police on Harley Davidson bikes suggested with gestures that we hold one lane. Not wanting to tempt the police we left the main road and headed to a temple. The trip was 80km in all.
